We depart Istanbul quite early for the World War I Battlefields of Gallipoli. This afternoon sees us partaking in a fully guided tour of this now serene place encompassing ANZAC Cove, Lone Pine and Chunuk Bair Memorials, Johnston’s Jolly, The Nek and the ANZAC Museum. Tonight we camp near the small town of Kilitbahir., and have an early night ready for the big day ahead.

Today is the reason we came to Turkey. The day begins in the early hours, as we make the trek to Ari Burnu Beach for the inaugural Dawn Service. Following this, we make our way to the site of the International service at Cape Helles, before our respective home nation’s services. Emotions run high, and this evening we enjoy a few quiet beers and maybe a game of two-up!

We depart Gallipoli after breakfast and head back to the big smoke of Istanbul, where this afternoon sees us partaking in a fully guided tour of one of the oldest cities in the world. We visit The Blue Mosque, Aya Sophia, Underground Cistern, Topkapi Palace, Hippodrome and we may even have a chance to do a bit of shopping in the Grand Bazaar.

After breakfast transfer to the Airport for final departure to home...
