Bosphorus 1 - The only city in the world located on two continents is Istanbul, which has been the capital of three great empires - Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman - for more than 2000 years.

DAY 1 HOME/ISTANBUL/IZMIR
Arrive in Istanbul and drive to Izmir. Overnight at bus.

Early morning arrival and transfer to hotel, free time at leisure. Afternoon half day city tour includes : Clock tower, built in the 19th century by Sultan Hamid. Archaeology museum, with an extensive collection of artifacts from the region. Kadifekale, the Mt.Pagus, on top of which are some of the fortifications built by the Byzantine and Ottoman. Return to hotel and overnight.

After breakfast drive to Ephesus visit to St Hadrian Temple . ANKARA

Did you know...

1 - The number of archaelogical excavations going on in Turkey every year is at least 150.

After breakfast drive 210 km to Hattusas that was the capital of the Hittites for a long time. Before visiting the main capital proceed to Yazılıkaya to see the open air sanctuary as the sun light comes on the bas-reliefs direct in the morning. After lunch visit to the capital of Hattusas with Lion’s Gate, Tunnel, King’s Gate, Citadel and Grand Temple. Then drive back to Ankara transfer to hotel and overnight.

DAY 4 ANKARA / GORDION / ISTANBUL
After breakfast drive to Gordion (approximately 100 km) that was the capital of the Phyrigians. Visit to the Acropolis and then to the Local Museum in which there are some remnants from the surroundings though the main findings are on display in the Anatolian Civilizations Museum in Ankara. Finally step in to the Tumulus in which the tomb of the King Midas is located. Then visit Gavurkalesi, one of the cult centers of Hittites, and drive back to Ankara and transfer to bus station. Late night departure from Amraka, overnight at bus.
DAY 5 ISTANBUL / HOME
